The Schrade/James Family Pianists

The Schrade/James Family Pianists (Robert, Rolande, Randolph, Rorianne, Robelyn with husband David James, and children, Lynelle and Christopher) can be heard individually or in combination at N.Y.C. venues including Carnegie's Weill Hall, Lincoln Center, Kosciuszko and Liederkranz Foundations, churches and Independent Schools. Radio and TV performances include a Lifetime TV broadcast of their most recent family concert in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. "Intensely musical performances" (N.Y. Times).

Lynelle James, pianist and
Christopher James, cellist

Lynelle James, pianist, and Christopher James, cellist, award-winning brother and sister combination, joined the festival when each was age five ((1990/1995), and performed with the Schrade/James family at Lincoln Center in 2000. Lynelle, with degrees from University of Michigan, will enter their doctoral program this fall, while Christopher, with a double-major, will be a sophomore at Boston University.

Rorianne Schrade, pianist

Rorianne Schrade, recipent of innumerable prizes and accolades, including a rave this year in American Record Guide for her new CD release "Homage to Chopin," will be filling in for the Rudiakov musicians, who have had to cancel due to illness. She will perform a solo piano recital of works of Mozart, Mendelssohn, Liadov, Chopin, Liszt and Paderewski. She has been praised for "the nuance and flexibility that had this listener thinking of Rachmaninoff's own recordings" (Harris Goldsmith, N.Y. Concert Review).

Robert Schrade, pianist, American Piano Music

Robert Schrade, pianist, has shared his extraordinary gifts with music lovers throughout the world for over sixty years. His "tone, touch, technique, and special sound" are praised by all who hear him and emulated by his gifted students. This "octogenarian patriarch" (N.Y. Times) still has "technique to burn, temperament to spare" (Musical America).

The Enso String Quartet (from Tanglewood), with Rorianne Schrade, pianist

The Enso String Quartet features Maureen Nelson (violin), John Marcus (violin), Melissa Reardon (viola), and Richard Belcher (cello). Formerly in residency at Tanglewood, the quartet has earned its place in the ensemble world with multiple honors, including Banff International and Concert Artists Guild Competitions. "A Youthful, prodigiously talented foursome" The Press of New Zealand. Rorianne Schrade, celebrated prizewinning pianist, will join the quartet for Dvorak's Quintet in A Major, Op. 81.

Robelyn Schrade, pianist and Judith Lynn Stillman, guest pianist

Robelyn Schrade, pianist, "unfailing mistress of the keyboard" (N.Y. Daily News), joins forces with renowned guest pianist, "the wonderful Judith Lynn Stillman ...conviction and insight. Brilliant!" (American Record Guide). Prizewinners from an early age, these two Juilliard colleagues were each winners of a Juilliard Concerto Competition, and each has achieved a coveted "center stage" musical life!
